Job Description

Automotive Lighting is seeking a Project Controller.  This candidate with be the 'CFO: of a project, and will challenge and support the project teams in every financial aspect of the project.

  • Lead financial performance of a program from approval to ongoing production costs, including tool cost, R&D and tangible asset investment, and product contribution margin.

  • Holding the organization accountable for their commitments to assure the projects’ profitability targets will be reached

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Definition, evaluation, implementation and follow up of action plans together with the project team (Current Status vs. Target)
  • Assuring the correctness of the profitability evaluation from financial point of view

  • Assuring the projects are handled according to the company’s internal procedures (RQA procedure, pre-Initiatives, Investment initiatives, etc.) from financial point of view

  • Lead cost planning activity for completion and control of project quotes and initiatives (TCTPs)
  • Challenge cost models for improved efficiency in material, labor, capital investment.
  • Review project files for initiative approval for veracity and congruence with plant indicators.

  • Review set up of cost structure in SAP to verify system is in line with TCTP and post SOP verify that cost structure is in line with actual costs

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Engineering or equivalent work experience.


  • 6+ years in cost estimation, cost engineering, project controlling or similar controlling role.

  • Automotive experience is required


  • Basic knowledge of SAP

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Systems

  • Negotiation and problem solving techniques

  • Ability to manage effectively deadlines and priorities within a cross functional and dynamic environment

  • Detail oriented with ability to communicate effectively

  • Spanish speaking is a plus but not necessary

  • Ability to travel both domestic and international (10-20%)
