Job Description

This position could be located in Auburn Hills, MI or Clarkston, MI.

The mission of the Magneti Marelli (MM) North America (NA) Supply Chain/Logistics team is to drive efficiency in the supply chain from the source of materials (suppliers) – through our 12 manufacturing plants’ production efforts – to our OEM customers.  Supply Chain sub-functions include:  transportation, production planning/control, materials requirements planning, inventory management, warehousing & line-feeding, shipping/receiving, and customer service.  Supply chain functions are managed within SAP –  Magneti Marelli’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.  Attributes and competencies necessary for success in the NA Supply Chain/Logistics team are:  a positive, proactive and collaborative attitude;  competency in cross-functional coordination and planning; a “line-out” mentality focused on enabling plant success; customer focus; and an absolute thirst for excellence!

The Regional Bill of Materials (BOM) Planner/Coordinator is responsible for advanced supply chain/logistics planning and new product launches including:

  • BOM materials planning beginning with development and evolution of the engineering and manufacturing BOMs ensuring Master Data correctness,  materials sourcing coordination with Purchasing, Plan for Every Part (PFEP) database establishment and plant logistics team coordination
  • Support the BOM evolution/updating process via the Engineering Change Request (ECR) and change management processes
  • Ensure robust procedures are managed for material/component phase-in/ phase-out; ensuring all part number changes are inputted into SAP as soon as material part number changes occur


  • Ensuring integrated, synergistic, cross-functional materials planning from concept through mass production
  • Collaborating horizontally and vertically within MM and with suppliers to ensure product materials are correctly inputted into SAP throughout the product’s lifecycle


  • Drive inventory efficiency from concept through mass production minimizing excess and obsolete inventory


EDUCATION: Associate Degree (required); Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university with a major in engineering,  supply chain management, business or finance (preferred)


  • 5+ years in an engineering/manufacturing environment working with BOMs
  • 3+ years of working in a lean manufacturing environment (i.e., WCM/WCL)
